Skanda (Kandasamy) is patron God of Astrology

Skanda (Kandasamy) is considered as the patron god of astrology by many.

By different schools of astrology different gods are considered as the patron god of astrology. Patron god of astrology as per variosu schools are - Skanda (Kandasamy) as per Arsha school, Brahma as per Jain and Yavana schools, Siva as per Tantric tradition, Brahma as per Vedic culture (patron god of Tropical astrology.

There are also traditions/schools that consider Surya, Vishnu or Sakti (Mother goddess) as the patron god of astrology.

Kerala tradition is the continuation of Arsha tradition and considers Skanda as the patron god of astrology.

Skanda Hora, the first authentic text of Ancient Astrology was supposed to be taught by Skanda (Kandasamy) to Brahma. In the ancient past onwards the worship of Skanda (Kandasamy) was popular thoughout India, Skanda (Kandasamy) temples are found throughout India.
* Kartikeyan is the war god of many cults.
* Skanda (Kandasamy) is the war god of Abhira tribes.
* Murugan is the traditional god of Dravidian people of South India, especially Tamilnadu.

(Note that Siva, Vishnu, Skanda (Kandasamy) , Brahma and all co-exist. It is the state of mind.)
