The Kalam Effect

I will show you God, but...

I will show You God but first You do this-

1) Show me where he is acting deaf and dumb to the cries of the innocent.

2) Prove me that they are innocent, who are crying.

3 ) Give me the reasons why some children are born healthy and the others crippled, or blind or whatever.

4) Why some live a long Life while some children die early at age 5 or 10.

5) Why dont we fall of from the Earth or why does the Earth itself not fall off from space. if it is gravitational theory then can they repeat this revolution and rotation in a scientific Labarotary with few balls as planets ? If it is Big Bang theory then why are the planets rotating at the same speed and not slowing down ? Try to create a big bang again and see whether the pieces are round in looks and whether they keep on revolving for lakhs of year in the manner Our Planets in the Solar system are revolving. Please explaion this who is keeping this perfect alignment in place.

6) Why are you not able to repeat Lord Ganesha drinking milk today ?

7) I also wish to know why do people worship Buddha statues ? is he there ? If he is there then I would like to see him. Show me the Buddha You worship, and I promise i will show you God. You do the above, then I will show you God.

You may leave the queries of Question 5, and answer the rest, and still I will surely show God to you.

The problem is that what the Buddhism of yesteryear's was, is no more today. I am sure it has become corrupted down the ages. I do not think Buddha did not worship God. This is all nonsense. All great Saints and Mahapurusha, accept a superior divinity pervading.

If Buddha is there, then God too is there. I would like to see Buddha first from those worshippers of Buddha, before they ask me to show God to them. I would also like to know why is he deaf and dumb to the cries of the innocents.

Which job is right for you?

This is a million dollar question.

Astrologically, we can answer to a certain extent.

We have to analyze the 10th house and its connection to the Lagna.

Prominent position, with a connection to the govt. job would be "Mars", with its presence, people would definitely earn from government payroll. Politicians included.

With Hororary Prasna, we can definitely find out whether you are going to change the job, location and project.

Shani Sadhe Sathi

According to my theory of Shani Sadhe Sathi, taught by my Grandpa... (some of my friends have also done research on this.)

There are 7 splits in the Shani Dasa, which have a specific meaning for each split phase (dont remember the name). This is in a ancient verse I am told. I have never seen it but heard its gist. ( I have to go to Calcutta to search for that. If someone sponsors a roundtrip, I am willing to do that :-) )

Here is what Mr LART says, my grandpa's psuedonym - Laxman Arya Rathan Tendulkar (forcing Arya in the bottom most lower caste by my great grandpa). BTW, many English guys and Indian Kings have accepted his finding as he has told, but you cannot find a Dalit's finding anywhere in the so called higher caste knowledge.

Also these seven phases remind of one a sura, with seven notes. sa-re-ga-ma- pa-tha-ne.

The first and last phases, are three quarters of the year.
The second third fifth and sixth are 2 and a half years each.
The real 7 and a half is the middle path of ones own Shani dasa. (mis-interpreted as Mr LART says, based on transit)

There are some explanations, of planets and it influence in each phase. One example in presence of Shani in 8th for property, and 11th for negating losses. 12th would force a person to live away from family or strive in famine.

There are some exclusions, that I havent come across.

April 24, 1968, 10.01AM, Calcutta. Hora Lord is Mars. My dad had been told, by my Grandpa, I will work for govt. one day, which happened. According to KP System, Mars is connected to Ketu & Venus, which signifies the 10th house along with Jupiter - job, so with the influence of my mother (Quota did help me.), I took up the govt. job, and moved out with an insignificant transit of Jupiter from Mars - I have not a single clue or explanation for that! (April 2007). Even though money is there with current change, satisfaction is not there and sense of instability owing to the political climate.

The Shani Dasa runs from March 1969 till March 1988. These are the split periods as I posted earlier.

1 0.75March 11, 1969December 9, 1969274 Good
2 2.5December 9, 1969June 9, 1972913 Good
32.5June 9, 1972December 8, 1974913 Bad
47.5December 8, 1974June 7, 19822738 Good
52.5June 7, 1982 December 5, 1984913 V.Good
62.5 December 5, 1984June 6, 1987913 V.Good
70.75June 6, 1987March 6, 1988274 Good

Incidents about bad period (3) - Refused to study at the Kindergarten level. changed 2 schools. wasted one year. refusal of admission based on caste in certain schools, it seems. Settled in one school during end of Bad period and continued there till I went to college.

Good period (4) There was no self confidence, in terms of the caste and ridicule at school, even though I was the topper. Self realization.

V Good period (5) Participated in my inter school debate in 10th. Won prizes. Topped the school. Significant interest towards engineering, dad's field. Ventured into theater/drama.

V Good period (6) Admission to IIT. Reasonable studies. Topped in many subjects. Tried hand at theater/drama.

All along under my mothers influence, I wanted to join the govt. job and take up a coveted position after my degree.

Good period (7) One particular day, that I decided to make a change in my career and move into software field during October 1988, on that night, there was a small bit of ash fallen in front of Shirdi Saibaba's picture, in my room. Don't know the astrological significance. Next day, in the campus interview I had a job, with an IT major, but with a 3 years contract. I took it after my PG eventually!

Mercury Dasa, has been good in my software career, till Venus Bhukthi, when I moved to the govt. job, as my mother had always wanted. Travelled abroad, and worked for long periods. Pursued my theatre/art dreams part time.

Mercury Dasa and Bhukthi, got me a PG degree. Met my would-be wife there at college. Also Mercury connection during, my marriage, kids birth and first house purchase.

Cannot pin-point any events in my life, connected to Shani, except for my last career change of starting the biz last April.

I never bothered about the traditional method of Shani Sadesathi, which I presume is over (Oct 1992 to April 2000).

My star is Poorvabhadra and my Saturn's presence in 11th have nullified losses. Any corrections?

I have had a good career in software, moved over to govt. job, married to the person I liked (elder to me). I have not earnt a single rupee more than my wife's earnings since marriage! It will be changing soon.

Next Shani Sadesathi is (Oct 2022 to April 2030) leading in my retired life! My kids marriage, grandkids etc. in this period. Hopefully I would stay in one single place.

(As I write this, received a call about my mothers Kidney stones and her 3rd operation. She lives with my sister in USA, and understand that she is getting operated on Tuesday evening, between 4 to 7 PM EST. Moon, Venus, Saturn and Rahu which are in my 10th house are transitting the Lagna, connected to birth and danger.).

God help us!

Vegetarian

Vegetarianism. Gandhism. I have had the same experience like Gandhi.

Even though we are Mahars, of Ambedkar caste, some subsects are vegetarians, and my grandfathers side, was strictly vegetarians, after the ancestors became followers of Shankaracharya itseems! My grandfather Shri Laxman Tendulkar, was well trained in vedas, while living in Kolhapur. He had a day time job in a shoeshop.

This reason, made us to be vegetarians. It changed, when my dad moved after his engineering degree for work in a small steel plant at Calcutta. He got hooked onto fish, which was considered vegetarian that side. Jala pusph. So after marraige, we were sort of brought up as seafoodarians. No eggs still. Everyday, my dad had to have fish. Fish is dangerous, beyong a certain quantity and doesnt mix with diary products.

So once I went to IIT, I was sort of forced to non veg, anything goes culture came into being, as there were too many restrictions on veg food. This continued in Ahmedabad too, when I was doing my PG. I had toned down to fish only then.

When I made my first trip for work, at a training in Delhi for 2 weeks, we figured out about the veg and non veg fried rice and biriyanis getting made in same Tava. So what is the fun in insisting?

While making my trips to US, I was able to survive with veg food alone. Mostly NY side. 1991 to 1994.

My wife, does not mind me eating non veg outside house. We still dont cook at home including eggs. My daughter and son are pure veg. Occassionally I end up eating somewhere while sharing with friends.

There is no proof on advantages of veg or non veg, but definitely there is life that trees plants have as proved well.

Saturn and Moon

All must be familiar with the passing of Saturn
in the Moon star of the person could cause what we all say as 'Sade
Sati', the Seven and half years of infliction to the person born (When
Saturn enters the 12th house, then enter into the house of posited
Moon and then the next house to the position of Moon - each approximately
2 and half years) in the Birth star zone. I give below the said
article as my introduction to this effect which is termed as "Punarphoo
Dosha" caused due to the relationship of Saturn and Moon:

Q: What is 'Punarpoo Dhosha' , and how it is detected in a
horoscope?
A: Whenever Saturn has got any connection , what so ever, with the
Moon, there will be some obstacle or impediment, not only during
negotiation, but also at the time of fixation and / or at the time of celebration
of the marriage.
The connection so described as 'Punrpoo" Dhosha should cause delay
and also indicate separation after marriage in many cases. In other
words, one of the partners with this dhosha may not be satisfied with the
selected partner, and could seek a better partner in the course of the
related Desa period. Or, unrecognized marital relationship could
develop.
It is also possible that this Dhosha can cause disturbances for one
reason or other, however flimsy could be, to upset the programmed
marriage, even if this dhosha is present in one of the partners in marriage.
Some of pointers to know this dhosha:
1. When Saturn occupies the 5th house from Lagna, it will obliviously
aspect the 11th, 7th and 3rd houses from its position. If that house, so
aspect by Saturn, to be occupied or owned by The Moon, or the Moon is
in that 5th house with Saturn, then 'Punarpoo Dhosha is said to
occur.
2. Whenever Saturn happens to be the 'significator' of a particular
designated matter concerning the house in consideration (not
necessarily for marriage, while it could be education, employment,
hospitalization etc), it will not deny the event, but will cause delay for
disappointing results.
3. If Saturn is connected with houses 2, 7 and 11 by occupying the
house, or owning it or situated in the star of the planet posited in any of
these houses, it is certain to cause delay in any fixation of
marriage, While it will not deny marital happiness for the person.
4. If Saturn has no connection with houses 2,7, and 11, yet throws its
aspect, it will lead not only delay in marriage, but also a positive
disappointment in the marital life.
(Another author gives in addition following interpretations)
5. Saturn in the houses 1,3,5,7 and 10 counted from Lagna delays the
time of fixation of marriage and also celebration of marriage in
confusion.
6. Difficulty and delay will be present if Saturn is connected to The
Moon under any of the astrological rules.

This will give a broad spectrum of the cause of many 'delays' when Moon
and Saturn are related.

Blasts in Bangalore

Blasts in Bangalore

As Swami Omkar predicted problem times in India. See the link... click here

Hindu Chauvinists are targeting Muslims after Friday Prayers. 3 lives lost & 15 injured in multiple blasts in the last 60 minutes.

They are suggesting it is due to the Amarnath crisis of 100 acres land, which was given earlier by Hari Singh the King during 1948, and never taken.

I was more suspicious when the Taj Mahal thing happened yesterday! (Shiv Sainiks doing Puja inside)

After lunch today, what a pity, people are going about their work in the 2 main areas.

Gujarat in the making. We need Military rule!

God help us in Peace!

India & Mars in 2nd house

Read from a newsgroup/blogpost,

We dont have a correct Birth time for India, should be declaration time, about 12:01AM on Aug 15th, 1947 by Lord Mountbatten. (They say it was deliberate to make sure we dont celebrate our Independence day with Pakistan). Mars is sitting in the second house, clearly showing that, we will play second fiddle. Sun and Rahu will make India Superpower, and that is in 2010 or 2047. Definitely this new association is going to be beneficial for us.

Leadership for anyone/country comes from Mars placement.

For India Mars is in the second house, so what does Vedas say?

With Mars in the Second House you are likely to exert your energy and initiative into business enterprises or other financial dealings in an active search for personal wealth. Capital is acquired through careful investment, sheer hard work and clever financial dealing. Strong-willed, determined and resourceful you enjoy a challenge and thrive on opposition. You may become a financial genius, or a mere spendthrift.

The best combination is Mars in Lagna or Tenth house, to get the best results individually. Mars in 7th clearly shows, wife or partners would help to achieve leadership.

With Mars in the First House you are likely to exert your energy and initiative into personal affairs and self-expression by developing a capacity for action and personal leadership. Self-confidence and courage are gained by active participation in rugged, physical and competitive sport or other similar activity. This position of Mars tremendously increases will-power and you are likely to be motivated by the need to win and to be first in your particular field. You have the capacity to achieve much and generate enthusiasm in others, though you must be careful not to burn yourself out through over-activity. You are, in a general sense, actively searching for a strong social self-image.

With Mars in the Tenth House you are likely to exert your energy and initiative by actively pursuing fame and social status. Courage, ambition, energy, enterprise, force, emotional involvement, business acumen and a strong compulsive drive for success may lead to public achievement or professional recognition. You like to see practical results for your efforts and take pride in doing a job correctly. You may become a force to be reckoned with in career and professional life, however your argumentative, aggressive and quarrelsome nature may create difficulties on occasion. Patience, tolerance and a less-hasty attitude to events should be cultivated.

With Mars in the Seventh House you are likely to exert your energy and initiative in active co-operation with others as associates or in partnerships of some kind. You can be aggressive and forceful in intimate relationships, or you may marry someone with this natural temperament. An early marriage is possible and your energy and passion will ensure a happy, demonstrative and rewarding sex-life. You are likely to gain popularity, social success, money or property through your marriage partner. With this placing of Mars it is important to be restrained in all dealings with associates, business partners and the opposite sex. If your aggressive nature becomes dominant there is danger of trouble and loss through public opposition, unpopularity, damaged relationships, female enmity or litigation.

Malefics as Benefics: Planets

Malefics as Benefics

It is well established that Kuja or Mars, and Sani or Saturn are the worst malefics, just as Guru (Jupiter) and Sukra (Venus) are the best benefics, by nature. Only the evil of Mars is quick and even sudden, and a person is not reformed by the evil inflicted by Mars, whereas the evil caused by Sani is slow and sure and so torturing, so that Saturn is the most dreaded planet, in common parlance. But as has been amply and aptly said, Sani purifies a person, though he might take one through fire. This is because, he is a philosophical planet; and, the four signs from Sagittarius to Pisces are considered to be philosophical signs; so that Jupiter and Saturn are considered to be philosophical planets. When Saturn enjoys the wholesome aspect of a benign and powerful Jupiter, he makes a man God-fearing and philosophical in the real sense. Sri Ramana Bhagwan at Tirruvannamalai has Sani in Meena and Guru in Kumbha. Sani has come to mean a by-word for misery; for, is he not the Karaka for daridra (poverty) which is worse than death and for dukkha or grief and misery?
Yet, it is wrong to suppose that these are never good. The purpose of this article is to show that the arrogant Mars and the cynical Saturn may and do become splendid benefics, at times, and give good results and even shower beneficial effects. The good and powerful Kuja makes one successful and generous to friends and flatterers. A good and strong Saturn makes one a hard worker who never spares himself, and therefore, may not spare his subordinates, and so, will make one an exacting and hard disciplinarian and task master.
Kuja, son of the earth, is "of the earth, earthy". So far as marital felicity is concerned, Kuja is much more baneful and harmful than Saturn. Kuja in 7 mars one's marital life, by leading either to quarrels and divorce, or death of one's partner-in-life, unless he is in his own house or exaltation sign, or is well-relieved by benefic conjunction or aspect of Jupiter, owning good houses, when the evil should not be predicted. Kuja in 8, for female, is very baneful, for according to Mahadeva, the learned author of Jathaka Tathwa, Kuja in 8 would make a woman either a widow or one who brings discredit to her family, here again the evil effects may not be attributable when Kuja is dignified. Kuja will cause unexpected and sudden evil like death by motor-accident, especially when he is the baneful lord of bad houses like 3 and 8, for Virgo or Kanya Lagna. Kuja for Kanya Lagna should not be in 10, and should be weak, as in 12 from Lagna.
This Kuja is a splendid benefic and brilliant Yogakaraka for Cancer or Kataka Lagna, as the lord of 5 and 10. Mars, with or in opposition to the Moon causes Chandra-Mangala Yoga, though he gives an over-active and fretful mind. Mars and Jupiter, in conjunction or opposition cause Guru-Mangala Yoga, which is very good, as it is said to make a man, the head of a city or town, or a wealthy person, and one who is Dwija, i.e., a Brahmin, a Kshatriya or a Vysya. The Guru-Mangala Yoga will, however, cause extravagance and the persons will be often liberal and generous to a fault. For Cancer subjects, Kuja is literally Mangala or the auspicious planet. If he is strong and his Dasa transpires, he will raise the native to enviable heights. I give here the horoscope (Chart I) of a great ex-Judge of the Madras High Court, Sri M Venkatasubba Rao.
I am sure, very few astrologers of the Panditic type could say that this horoscope is that of one who was an eminent judge of the Madras High Court, known for his sturdy independence, for nearly 17 years! Please mark (1) Mars the Yogakaraka for Kataka Lagna in Lagna with full Moon, Lord of Lagna, getting neechabhanga Rajayoga and aspected by Guru, the lord of 9. So there is the association of the lords of 1, 5, 9 and 10 causing the Yoga; despite feeble Budha, lord of 3 and 12. (2) Lord of 7 in 9 with the lord of 9 in 7, a good Parivarthana; and (3) mark Guru and Budha in 7 and Sukra in 8 from Lagna as well as Chandra, forming Adhiyoga as well. My opinion is, the great success in life and good longevity are due to Nos. (1 and (3) above, taken together. Neither the association of 1, 5, 9 and 10 lords, when 9 and 10 lords are, after all, in Neecha, with clear Neechabhanga only for one of them, nor Adhiyoga could single-handedly account for the longevity and eminence of the native.
My point is to stress the importance of Adhipathya or lordship furnishing the clue and key to the benefic nature of Mars. The lord of 5 and 10, especially when the lord of 10 is a natural malefic, is a brilliant benefic. And, when such good Mars is in 10, the native can achieve the "impossible" even. And, however weak he may be, he must confer good on the native and lift him, especially when he is associated with the Ascendant and the lord of the Ascendant, who is the ruler of the chart according to western astrologers.
There is a sloka in the Jathaka Parijata, Chapter VII which says that if Mars is in Oocha and strong and is aspected by (or) associated with Sun, Moon and Jupiter, even a low-born person becomes a king, of protecting the whole earth. In the horoscope referred to, Mars, though in his debilitation sign, is strong in Shadvargas and is with the full Moon and is aspected by the Sun and Jupiter.
Kataka Lagna people, if lucky, should have Mars with Moon, lord of Lagna, and should get the Dasas of Moon and Mars. In God Vishnu's Avatar Sri Ramchandra's horoscope, Moon and Jupiter were in Cancer, and Mars was in exaltation in 7; how splendid! In the late Justice T V Seshgiri Iyer's chart, for Cancer, Mars and Jupiter were in exaltation, and his wife served him, though Mars was in 7! Horoscope 2 is the horoscope of an eminent lawyer and a knight who earned well in Surya Dasa and earned a "fortune" in lakhs, in Moon's Dasa (Mark first-rate Lakshmi (1 and 9) and Gajakesari (Jupiter and Moon Yogas) and became Advocate General and got Knighthood, or "Sir"-title in the Dasa of Mars, but missed the Judgeship of the Federal Court of India, for which he tried, though he had declined a High Court Judgeship. Mark, Mars lord of 5 and 10 in 2, the house of speech; but not in 10 or in 7 aspecting 10 or with the lord of Lagna or aspected by the 9th lord Jupiter.
Next to Kataka Lagna, Mars sis a benefic for Simha Lagna or Leo. Mr Justice Sundaram Chetty, an ex-Judge of the Madras High Court, who rose from the post of a District Munsif to a place on the High Court Bench, was born in Leo, and had Mars in 10 (Meridian) and 11 from Moon in Cancer. By the way, Mars is very good in 3, 10 and 11, except where 11 is badhakasthana, when he is good by lordship. For Simha Lagna, Mars is a better benefic than for Kumbha Lagna (for which he is lord of 3 and 10); but for Leo, Kuja is less of a benefic than for Cancer, the reason being that the lordship of 9, for a fixed sign is also slightly evil, on account of badhakadhipatyam. However, as lordhip of 9 is always auspicious, I would attribute badhakadhipatyam more to the lord of 11 for a Chara Lagna or cardinal sign, and to the lord of 7 for a dual sign or Ubhaya Rasi only.
I shall illustrate myself with these: Sri Vepa Ramesam an ex-Judge (for about 15 years) had Mars in 4 in his own house, for Leo. Mr S Srinivas Iyengar, Advocate General and a great lawyer had Mars and Sun in Lagna for Leo; he was a very assertive and powerful personality.
The 3rd one is the horoscope of a person who was practicing as an Advocate and then was appointed to an official position carrying more than Rs.1000 a month as pay. The person was also appointed as an acting High Court Jundge. But, he was not re-appointed, after reversion, as a Judge. And so, his tenure as High Court Judge, in a very high position, was a very short one, for about three months. Why was the disappointment? If lord of 9 for Kumbha Lagna is evil, on account of badhakadhipatyam, his being relegated to 8 where he is in debility, should be good. There is also Lagnadhi Yoga due to (uncombust) Guru in 7 and Budha and Sukra in 8 from Lagna. Perhaps this was responsible for his being lifted as a judge; but the lift was not permanent and misfortune. I was asked about the chart. I said, Sani, though exalted in 9 as lord of Lagna, is debilitated in Navamsa. Kuja, lord of 3 and 10 is not in 10, but in 4, aspecting 10, no doubt; but in 6 from the lord of Lagna. Above all, the lord of Bhagyasthana (9th) and lord of Lagna are in Dwidwadasa (2 and 12) positions. And therefore, I am of opinion that the badhakadhipatyam theory should be applied to fixed signs only with great caution.
In the horoscope of an IMS Officer, Guru and Sukra, lords of 2 and 11, 4 and 9 are in Lagna and Mars in 10 well-placed in his own house. If Sukra were evil, because he is lord of Bhagya, he should not be in Lagna. But here, the two benefics are in Lagna; and Mars, lord of 10 is strong in his own house in 10 with directional strength, and forming Ruchaka-Yoga, a Pancha-Mahapurusha Yoga and he aspects Venus, lord of 9. The native was an IMS Officer getting more than Rs.2000/- per month.
Now, I come to Sani. According to me and my humble experience, Sani is the best benefic for Libra or Tula Lagna. He is an intimate friend of Venus, the lord of the Ascendant and is the auspicious lord of 4 (a quadrant) and 5 (a trine). Sani in 4 in Capricorn, or in Lagna in Libra for Libra natives is excellent, especially if he is with Sukra or Venus, the lord of Lagna. Akbar the great had Venus and Saturn in Lagna in Libra. For Libra, Napoleon had Sani in 10 and 10th lord Moon in 4. I am aware that, for Taurus, Sani is the Yogakaraka as the lord of 9 and 10; but I advisedly say that he is a better benefic for Libra natives. For, for Taurus or Vrishabha Lagna, Sani is also badhakadhipati as the lord of 9 for a fixed sign. The learned author of Bhavartha Ratnakara (vide B V Raman's English translation) says "Sani alone cannot give Rajayoga, for Taurus", and some Telugu writers swear by that rule and say, Sani should be actuated by conjunction with Venus, or by the aspect of Jupiter to do good. The Telugu verse even says that Sani in a Kendra from Venus is as benefic as Jupiter in a Kendra from Moon who gives Gaja-Kesari Yoga and gives Kirthi, Sukha and Bhoga-Bhagyam, despite even the evil of planets in debility or in inimical houses. Of course, I would apply it fully only when good Sukra is with good Sani, or in 7 from good Sani. Of course, Sani should not combine with or aspect his bitter enemy, the Sun, for Taurus, though the Sun is lord of a Kendra (4) and Sani is lord of a Kona (9). The Sun-Saurn conjunction like Mars-Saturn is one of the worst; and if in 10 will spoil one's reputation, and work a "fall". Sun and Saturn in 3 or 8 affect longevity and so on. Sani in 3 or 11seems to be very good for Taurus. See chart 4 of a Justice of the Madras High Court, who was first appointed as a District Judge and rose to the High Court. He had a strong physique, stout common sense and was a perfect gentleman and a great sportsman.

Noteworthy Features:
(1) Adhiyoga from Lagna, a pure Adhiyoga, due to Venus in 6 and Guru and Budha in 7 from Lagna, unassociated with any malefics. According to Saravali, such Adhiyoga makes one a Mantri or a "Dhandapathi" or "Judge" or a King, and also long-lived and free from diseases and fear.
(2) Sani in 3 from Lagna, aspected by Guru;
(3) Guru and Budha in Kendra, as the lords of 2 and 11, such "Somasutha-Guru" yoga is deemed a Dhanyayoga for Taurus. Shani for Vrishabha Lagna is good in 7, though in Scorpio; for Taurus natives as Sani has got Digbala or Directional strength in the west or the setting sign. It is very good for success; and does not affect even one's partner-in-life, unless there are other features, to cause Kalathradosha.
Next to Libra and Taurus the sign for which Saturn is really benefic, is Capricorn or Makara for which he is the lord of Lagna (and Dhana 2). Sani is Oocha in Libra, for natives whose Janma Lagna or Chandra Lagna is Makara or Capricorn is a very good feature for elevation in life; and in such a case, the general rule that Sani in 10 will cause rise but also a sudden or great fall should not be predicted. Here is the horoscope (No.5) of a gentleman who has gradually risen to Governmental pay, in 4 digits, and is bound to rise still higher, in Sani Dasa, Sukra bhukti, after the present gochara ceases.
The native is a good gentleman. Mark Guru, lord of Lagna in 9, in Leo, where, according to Kerala Astrologers, Jupiter is even more powerful than Oocha Guru or Jupiter in exaltation, aspecting Lagna. He married the daughter of a very leading lawyer and got into Government service, thanks to his merits and his father-in-law' s influence (Mark Mercury lord of 7 and 10 with Surya, the Royal Bhagyadhipathi or lord of 9). According to me, this is a case where Sani is an excellent benefic. For Sani as lord of 2 for Dhanur Lagna is in 11 in exaltation, combined with Venus, the Yogakaraka for Chandra Lagna. Sani, in a kendra from Lagna or Chandra, in his own or exaltation house, produces a Pancha-Mahapurusha Yoga called Sasa-Yoga, conducive to longevity, devotion to one's mother and shrewdness to spot out and detect perfidy or treachery by others. He is 52 or 53 and is drawing more than Rs. 1,000 per mensem, now; and he must rise higher to be the "head" or to draw higher emoluments upto Rs.2000 per mensem.
"Good Sani in 3, 6 or 11 from Lagna or Moon produces Yoga-prabhava. And, if such Sani has got the aspect of a good and powerful Jupiter, he will give very beneficial results, and that too, in an astonishing manner". Sir C Ramaswami Iyer's best Dasa was that of Sani in Pisces in 6, for Thula Lagna, in exchange with Guru. Any lucky Libra-man gets Sani and Budha Dasas in his life just as any Virgo native should get Budha and Sukra Dasas to be very lucky or to have phenomenal success.
Sani, if he is good by lordship or Adhipathya, as for (1) Libra or Thula, (2) Taurus or Vrishabha and (3) Capricorn or Makara Lagna is mighty benefic. Sani is very good in Thula, his exaltation sign, and is good in his own houses, Capricorn and Aquarius and (4) in Jupiter's houses, Dhanus or Sagittarius and Meena or Pisces. The Uttara Kalamrita says "Sani gives fortune when in Pisces, Libra and Dhanus".
It also says that Sani does good when in Libra, or own house or in Jupiter's houses, even though he is in Lagna (where he is, generally bad, just as he is good in 7).
The Brihat Jataka attributes only good results to Sani in Jupiter's houses.
Of course, Sani in Dhanus, called Kodanda-Sani may have to be regarded as stronger than Sani is Pisces; as Dhanus is the sign just preceding Makara, Sani's own house, whereas Pisces or Meena immediately precedes Aries, his debilitation sign. But the Jataka Parijata says that Sani in Meena gives "Thejas" and excelling kingly virtues. Saravali says, if Sani is in Guru's house and is aspected by Guru, he gives Rajayoga.
In experience, Sani in Meena for Mesha Lagna, if well-aspected by exalted Jupiter from Cancer, is found to be benefic, especially if the Moon is in Capricorn or Taurus, when Sani will occupy an Upachaya from Chandra Lagna, as lord of good houses from Moon's sign. Of course, some gentlemen explain by saying that, Sani, though very good as a malefic who is the lord of 10, is mainly baneful as lord of 11for a cardinal sign, viz., Mesha or Aries and so badhakadhipathi. As Kumbha or Aquarius is Moolathrikona for Saturn, the lordship of 11, which is specially evil for a movable or cardinal sign, preponderates. And so when he is relegated to 12, the evil disappears? and when Guru, the lord of Pisces and the lord of 9 for Aries blesses him by his benign aspect, Sani is transmuted or transformed into a benefic, and even a brilliant Yogakaraka? Such friends cite the instance of an Aries-native who has Moon in Taurus and Guru and Sani in Pisces in 12 (and not in 11, in Bhava) who is a celebrity and the Dewan of a Native State for 17 or 18 years in Sani Dasa. And the late lamented Prof. B Suryanarain Rao's Astrological Self-Instructor shows a Mysore Judge's chart, where Sani is in 12 in Pisces for Aries Ascendant with Guru and Moon in 4 in Kataka. The Phaladeepika by Sri Mantreswara, in Chapter VII, says, " If Sukra, Guru and Sani are in Meena and the Moon is exalted, as Full Moon, and the Sun for Mesha Lagna is aspected by Mars, the person becomes a king." Vide:
Query:
Is the real or correct reason for the Rajayoga, the fact that (1) Badhakadhipathi is well relegated, or (2) is it the fact that Sani is in Meena and has 9 and 10 benefic association, or (3) is it due to Chandra Lagna, mainly? Possibly (1), (2) and (3). Anyway, it is a point to be remembered that, when Sani is evil by lordship he may be relegated to 12, and when he has Jupiter's powerful aspect, perhaps the following sloka from the Jathaka Rajeeyam ascribed to Kalidasa may be applied to a malefic, by nature, in 12, though generally, Sani is bad indeed, next to Sani in 8.
But Sani in 8, in his own house, with benefic aspect by Jupiter or Venus, is found to be giving wealth, though very little is saved. For Mesha (Aries) Lagna and for Mithuna (Gemini) Lagna, Saturn is deemed a papi, as lord of 11 for a cardinal sign, and the lord of 8 (though lord of 9) respectively, and so the apparent paradox, that Sani in 12 or 8, very bad generally, may be good in 12 or 8 for these two Lagnas provided there is benefic association, of course. When Sani becomes benefic, it is iron or steel transformed into gold. A person with Sani, rendered benefic, especially by Jupiter's association or aspect will have faith and be God-fearing and will have spiritual tendencies, besides materialistic mundane success.

Blind in emotion, they do not object tot he torture of the youngsters, they remain absorbed in the pleasure of creation. The crab has ten feet, but two of them are always projected like a pincer - as if challenging. It clings and sticks, It moves sideways - not in advancement or receding. According to the theories of Science, the scorpions are lovers of hot countries. They generally hide during the day, concealed under logs of wood or under stones or in holes, in sands, which they dig for themselves. They hunt their prey at night although their power of vision is feeble and they seem to be quite deaf. When a scorpion finds a victim, it is promptly seized and torn to pieces. If it is strong enough to offer resistance it is paralyzed by the sting and is then slowly eaten up. They are slow eaters. The poison they secrete is often instantaneously fatal to insects and centipedes, but it is immune from its own poison. Scorpions' food seems to provide its body with all moisture it needs, for these creatures never drink and can survive a prolonged fast. Scorpions will not use their stings unless considerably provoked. Indeed, when they are discovered they show much more marked desire to avoid notice, then to attract To their own kind they are however, hostile. They generally live solitary lives and if two are found together, one is eating the other. Scorpions indulge in courtships and after mating the female sometimes eat the male. Rich and Famous: Astrology

Most of the famous Sadhus/Rich folks those I have come across have their 12th house with Jupiter, Saturn or Venus....

With Jupiter in the Twelfth House you will find luck, ease of working and general good fortune coming through spiritual work, literature, art, poetry, religion or stage and screen work. Inspiration, support and guidance may come from an inner search for spiritual fulfilment - in the form of meditation, seclusion and introspective study. At some stage of life you may make a great personal sacrifice in order to fulfill your ideal of worthwhile service, perhaps through asylums, hospitals or public institutions. There is likely to be an interest in medicine, chemistry, healing and metaphysical or occult studies - you have a healthy respect for ancient wisdom and the more profound teachings.

A Twelfth House Saturn suggests that your career or area of responsibility in the world relates in some way to work in seclusion, or for the care or education of others - perhaps in social work, hospitals, prisons, universities, religion or the arts. Your nature is acquisitive, reserved and inclined to solitude, with a desire to work unpretentiously, unobserved, and live peacefully or alone. With this placing of Saturn you may experience negative inner pressures related to subconscious insecurity, secret sorrows, fear, loneliness and disappointment. You may at some stage suffer false accusations by secret enemies.

With Venus in the Twelfth House the areas of life where you are most likely to express your social, romantic and artistic qualities are through a love of quiet and seclusion to peruse personal or secret study and meditation - probably of a spiritual nature. Personal and social contacts often are secretive, and there can be secret love affairs. Social inhibitions or shyness can lead to some loneliness or romantic frustration.

Most of the Sadhus have had Venus in the 10th... (closely associated with the working professionals, as above)

With Venus in the Tenth House the areas of life where you are most likely to express your social, romantic and artistic qualities are through social and professional life, possibly related to the arts. You are socially ambitious and success may come though your good managerial qualities, some form of artistic talent or indirectly through your marriage partner. You are likely to seek marriage with someone who will bestow social status and wealth.

Also, the Saturn in 8th combination is observed for the wealthy and philanthropic.

An Eighth House Saturn suggests that your career or area of responsibility in the world is to gain knowledge and expertise associated with the responsible handling of other people s property and money - banking, investments, insurance, corporate money, tax, inheritances, etc. A will to succeed must be developed together with a calm, efficient, determined and persistent effort for thoroughness.

With Jupiter in the Eighth House you will find luck, ease of working and general good fortune coming through an inheritance, joint finances, investment, business dealings or your marriage partner. This position of Jupiter gives you the opportunity to develop skill in business, a flair for handling money and a marked degree of social power.

With Venus in the Eighth House the areas of life where you are most likely to express your social, romantic and artistic qualities are through harmonious sexual relationships, friendships and business interests. You attract the opposite sex like bees to honey, and you favour a partner who is intelligent, with a somewhat mysterious flair about them. An inheritance is likely, or you may gain financially through your partner. Your social circle may include many who are interested in the mysteries or those who are engaged in some form of occult work.

Mercury in 8th is a super combination to be rich and philanthropic (and inquisitive guys!)

Your mental and communicative abilities will largely be applied to the growth and development of the mind through the study of fundamental questions of life and death, and a search for the beyond. There is an interest in scientific, metaphysical and occult subjects. Much of your knowledge may be gained through intuitive means rather than the study of books. There is an aptitude for business and other financial dealings. Your mental disposition is ideally suited to work of an investigative nature, research, psychotherapy, psychiatry, police or detective work.

Indications for Travel Disasters

Indications for Travel Disasters

Of late, not a day passes without a travel disaster. Air-crashes, train derailments, car-bus-truck collisions and boat capsizes make the headlines of newspapers. The colossal loss of lives and limbs in these accidents makes heart-rendering news.
In olden times, travel mishaps were rare for two reasons. The mode of traveling on animals like horse, camel and bullock carts etc. involved very little risk. Secondly traveling was undertaken only as per astrological guidance with reference to the week-day, lunar date, star, time and purpose of traveling and the direction of destination. Astrological advice was sought for fulfillment of mission and safe return.
Today, traveling has become hazardous due to speed mania and too much reliance on machines, o the utter heedlessness of astrological and electional taboos. Again, the travel services have their own schedules of departure and electional Astrology is left with little choice regarding starting time.
However, a person, in whose chart a positive travel disaster is indicated, can guard against such mishaps and even avert Apamrityu (untimely death) if he or she avoids traveling during certain such Dasa-Bhukti- Antara. Since the horoscope maker does not mention `Antara' except when specially asked for, the person should be alerted during evil transits occurring during evil Dasa-Bhukti. Such a period of alarm against traveling ranges from to six moths.

Indications for a Travel Disaster
The planets in the birth chart are positioned house-wise as per Equal House Method. Mercury and Gemini both afflicted furnish a clue. According to the classics, the third house indicates short journey and the 9th house indicates a long journey and also religious prilgimage. The words `short' and `long' have reference to distance which in the modern jet age of speed mania has little relevance. Both houses and their lords are hence to be considered.
If in a chart, any two factors from the above, i.e. 3rd house, its lord, 9th house and its lord are afflicted, or any one factor is doubly afflicted, the native is vulnerable to a serious mishap while traveling during the evil Dasa-Bhukti.
The affliction is caused by natural malefics like Mars, Saturn and Uranus by aspect, occupation or conjunction. The Sun either when debilitated or when afflicted by a Node can cause affliction. A Node alone does not produce sufficient affliction unless afflicted by the Sun, Mars, Saturn or Uranus. An afflicted planet or a retrograde planet (even if lord of Lagna or of a trine or of 3rd or 9th house, whether a natural benefic or malefic), causes affliction. The lord of the 8th house, whether a benefic or a malefic, causes serious disaster when afflicted or afflicting the 3rd or 9th house or their lords suffer a Papakartari Yoga. Lords of 3rd and 8th houses are malefics.
Aspects of Parasara are used but I have also observed that a via-media aspect is effective., e.g. Saturn in the 7th house aspects the 3rd house provided a planet occupies the 9th house. A planet is under complete influence of the aspecting planet except in 7th aspect which is a mutual aspect.
Debilitation, retrogression and combustion enhance the severity of an affliction.
Occupation of a bad house (6-8-12) also adds to the severity. The occupation of the 8th house from its own house is the worst position. [8th lord in the 3rd house or 3rd lord in the 8th or 10th or 12th house or 9th lord in the 8th house are very bad positions and add to the severity of the mishap provided the first stated combination (affliction to 3rd or 9th house or their lords) exists simultaneously] .
Mars in Cancer, Pisces or a mercurian sign and occupying or aspecting 3rd, 8th, 10th, 12th or Lagna increases severity, if combust, retrograde or afflicted. Mars owning the 3rd and 8th houses for Virgo and Venus for Pisces, when debilitated or afflicted, inflict fatal injuries, if connected with the 3rd and 9th houses or lords.
I have found in my studies that Uranus, an airy planet like Saturn and equally malefic in nature, is always related to the 3rd house or its lord or the 8th house or Lagna in the charts of those natives who have met with terrible traveling disasters and even death.
It is wrong to conclude that when airy signs Gemini, Libra and Aquarius are afflicted, air disasters take place and no other kind of disaster occurs, I have observed that Saturn exertsd a major influence on the 3rd or the 9th house or their lords, the 3rd house mainly since Gemini the 3rd sign is airy, or Saturn and Uranus both have their main force exerted on the 3rd house and its lord in disasters in the air, irrespective of the nature of the signs. An airy sign in the 3rd or 9th house provides a clue of course, but not always and in all cases.

Forbidden Periods
The presence of any positive indication of a travel disaster should not deter the native from undertaking travels except when the following Dasa Bhukties operate:
(a) Lords of 2-3-7-8 houses or planets occupying these houses or planets afflicting these houses or their lords.
(b) A malefic occupying the 12th house or owning it.
(c) Afflicted lord of Lagna or of 9th house or planets afflicting Lagna or 9th house or their lords.
(d) Planet inimical to lord of Lagna related to Lagna or its lord.
The Dasa-Bhukti- Antara lords come under the above category and they are afflicted in one way or the other in the chart, or are retrograde or debilitated or combust at the same time.
When the lords of the 3rd and 8th houses are connected intimately, when the 3rd lord occupies the 8th and the 8th lord aspect the 3rd house; when the 8th lord occupies the 3rd house and the 3rd lord aspects the 8th house, the prognosis of the disaster is extremely bad.
In spite of a combination for a disaster occurring in a chart as above, nothing like a mishap will happen, provided a strong Jupiter un-afflicted, in direct motion, when not owning the 8th house aspect the planet causing affliction, by 5th or 9th aspect. even a debilitated Jupiter from the 11th house, not afflicted by Saturn or a Node, saves the situation by trinal aspect. A martian aspect on Jupiter will not disable Jupiter if Mars is a trinal lord and unconnected with Saturn or a Node.
In the absence of Jupiter's trinal aspect on the afflicgtion- causing planet, the native is bound to meet with a disaster when traveling by car, truck, train, bus, boat, etc. due to whatever cause, but will escape death provided the lord of 8th house is completely isolated from the 3rd house and its lord i.e., the 3rd house and its lord are not afflicted by aspect, occupation, conjunction by lord of 8th house.
The period of the Dasa-Bhukti lords stated above may range from 3 months 18 days to 40 months; hence it is very necessary to narrow down this period when the native must avoid traveling if he or she cares to be spared from disaster.

Transits and Indicators
The transits are time indicators and can be earmarked in advance as alarm periods.
A lone evil transit does accumulate its evil effects and triggers it off only when another evil transit reinforces the accumulated effects simultaneously and coinciding with the Dasa Bhukti period:
(a) The transit of Saturn, regardless of its good or bad lordship in the birth chart, when afflicting the radical 3rd house and/or its lord,
(b) afflicting Lagna and/or its lord;
(c) afflicting 8th house and/or its lord;
(d) afflicting a radical planet which afflicts the 3rd, 8th or 1st house or their lord in the radical; and
(e) afflicting 3rd or 8th house from the radical Moon.
The above transit of Saturn rings in a period of caution, but concurrently when Mars too is in transit, regardless of its ownership of good or bad houses in the radix, afflicts the factors stated against Saturn above, it is a time for real alarm, to abstain from traveling.
Saturn and Mars together or in different signs when concentrating their force on 3rd house or its lord and also Lagna or 8th house or their lords can strike an unforgettable and cruel blow.
At the same time if they are retrograde, or afflict each other, or become combust or transit over a radical malefic or a radical debilitated planet and the Nodes in transit also afflict any of the above factors and Jupiter in transit is retrograde, combust or afflicted, the severity is enhanced.
If Mars, Jupiter or Saturn owns 8th house in the radix, in transit they do afflict the 3rd house or its lord. This is an important point for judging the alarm period.
The Dasa-Bhukti lords are invariably afflicted by transit which is an unfailing index to timing of the mishap.

Summary
1. Affliction to the 3rd and 9th houses and/or their lords in the birth chart is a combination for travel disaster.
2. This combination loses power provided the afflicting planet receives a trinal aspect of an un-afflicted and direct Jupiter not owning the 8th house.
3. Dasa and Bhukti of marakas, evil lords, when afflicted by transits and Mars-Saturn, the 8th lord in transit when afflicting the 3rd, 8th and 1st houses and/or their lords, bring about the event when transit Jupiter is retrograde, weak or afflicted.
4.The 8th lord with no connection with the 3rd house and its lord in the birth chart keeps life intact in spite of serious injuries in the disaster.

Pedestrian Accidents

When the Lagna, 4th and 5th houses or their lords are the centres of stronger malefic influences than the 3rd and 9th houses and their lords, the native is vulnerable to injuries by speeding roadside vehicles while going on foot. If the 8th lord or 8th house is afflicted and also involved in this combination, the injuries may prove fatal. This is not a travel disaster in the sense of mishaps while in vehicles, whether on land, water or in air which is the subject of my paper.
Note: House position of planets should be ascertained on equal House Division method.
Natives of Chart 2 and 6 escaped death after prolonged treatment, all others met with instantaneous death.

President OBAMA, Astrological Analysis

Here is chart of Barack Obama, born at 19.24 PM on August 4, 1961

Moon is in 5th, indicates the person has high will and should overcome all difficulties. Hillary Clinton supporters might ditch, while USA has 12% Black population (African descent to be politically correct!) and 8% Others, out of which there is an even split always! So Obama can swing the vote! (In Florida & Michigan, many blacks were sent home in the last election of 2004, without voting in the last election. One incident - your DL has expired, so it is not a valid ID, go back without voting!)

Please compare against Bill Clinton, who has had the same combination. Unlike Hillary Clinton whose, Moon in the chart is in 12th, leading to losses in her association always ( Apart from this Presidential nomination loss, Bill Clinton, nearly impeached on Monica Lewinsky case and the loss of Majority for Democratic Senators in USA Senate )

In fact both their lives have some similarities, loosing Dad at a young age, Mother marrying second time, grandparents helping, law degree, scholarships, marrying a person from the same law firm, and social activists...

I think we have to analyze the chart of the political party in the hororary scheme of things. Very rarely in USA history an younger opponent has won! (John F Kennedy - assassinated in the first term & Bill Clinton - survived impeachment).

Is Astrology True?

Decide for yourself! It is in the eye of the beholder. Some say it has very good placebo effect. (I had personally timed one event of collecting a cheque yesterday 6 months ago, and forgot about it, which I was not hopeful about. After collecting only, I realized the power of hororary).

I will post some personal experiences with Astakavarga and KP System, wonderful systems.

I have a poll in this blog on "Are you willing to pay for Astrology services?" to understand people's serious interest and not for time pass attitude. Overwhelming responses. About 90% are willing.

I wish people can pay, what they can afford! That helps the tradition.

The Significance of Guru Purnima

The Significance of Guru Purnima

Hindus attach paramount importance to spiritual gurus. Gurus are often equated with God and always regarded as a link between the individual and the Immortal. Just as the moon shines by reflecting the light of the sun, and glorifies it, all disciples can dazzle like the moon by gaining from their Gurus.

What is Guru Purnima?
The full moon day in the Hindu month of Ashad (July-August) is observed as the auspicious day of Guru Purnima, a day sacred to the memory of the great sage Vyasa. All Hindus are indebted to this ancient saint who edited the four Vedas, wrote the 18 Puranas, the Mahabharata and the Srimad Bhagavata. Vyasa even taught Dattatreya, who is regarded as the Guru of Gurus.

Significance of Guru Purnima
On this day, all spiritual aspirants and devotees worship Vyasa in honor of his divine personage and all disciples perform a 'puja' of their respective spiritual preceptor or 'Gurudevs'.

This day is of deep significance to the farmers, for it heralds the setting in of the much-needed rains, as the advent of cool showers usher in fresh life in the fields. It is a good time to begin your spiritual lessons. Traditionally, spiritual seekers commence to intensify their spiritual 'sadhana' from this day.

The period 'Chaturmas' ("four months") begins from this day. In the past, wandering spiritual masters and their disciples used to settle down at a place to study and discourse on the Brahma Sutras composed by Vyasa, and engage themselves in Vedantic discussions.

The Role of the Guru
Swami Sivananda asks: "Do you realize now the sacred significance and the supreme importance of the Guru's role in the evolution of man? It was not without reason that the India of the past carefully tended and kept alive the lamp of Guru-Tattva. It is therefore not without reason that India, year after year, age after age, commemorates anew this ancient concept of the Guru, adores it and pays homage to it again and again, and thereby re-affirms its belief and allegiance to it. For, the true Indian knows that the Guru is the only guarantee for the individual to transcend the bondage of sorrow and death, and experience the Consciousness of the Reality."

At the Sivananda Ashram, Rishikesh, the Guru Purnima is celebrated every year on a grand scale.
1. All aspirants awake at Brahmamuhurta, at 4 o'clock. They meditate on the Guru and chant his prayers.
2. Later in the day, the sacred worship of the Guru's Feet is performed. Of this worship it is said in the Guru Gita:

Dhyaana moolam guror murtih;
Pooja moolam guror padam;
Mantra moolam guror vakyam;
Moksha moolam guror kripa

"The Guru's form should be meditated upon; the feet of the Guru should be worshipped; his words are to be treated as a sacred Mantra; his Grace ensures final liberation".
3. Sadhus and Sannyasins are then worshipped and fed at noon.
4. There is continuous Satsang during which discourses are held on the glory of devotion to the Guru in particular, and on spiritual topics in general.
5. Deserving aspirants are initiated into the Holy Order of Sannyas, as this is a highly auspicious occasion.
6. Devout disciples fast and spend the whole day in prayer. They also take fresh resolves for spiritual progress.

The Guru's Advice
Swami Sivananda recommends: "Wake up at Brahmamuhurta (at 4 a.m.) on this most holy day. Meditate on the lotus feet of your Guru. Mentally pray to him for his Grace, through which alone you can attain Self-realisation. Do vigorous Japa and meditate in the early morning hours.

"After bath, worship the lotus feet of your Guru, or his image or picture with flowers, fruits, incense and camphor. Fast or take only milk and fruits the whole day.
In the afternoon, sit with other devotees of your Guru and discuss with them the glories and teachings of your Guru.

"Alternatively, you may observe the vow of silence and study the books or writings of your Guru, or mentally reflect upon his teachings. Take fresh resolves on this holy day, to tread the spiritual path in accordance with the precepts of your Guru.

"At night, assemble again with other devotees, and sing the Names of the Lord and the glories of your Guru. The best form of worship of the Guru is to follow his teachings, to shine as the very embodiment of his teachings, and to propagate his glory and his message."

Hinduism & Astrology

Here is a nice article on the Indus Valley Civilization, and the growth of Hinduism.

http://groups.%20yahoo.com/%20group/ancient_%20indian_astrology%20/files/Ancient%%2020Indian%%2020Culture-%20History/indus.%20pdf

There was Fire and Sun worship only.

If you see the wiki, web articles, you can conclude that the local religions and dieties were merged into the globalization of the Hindu religion.

For example Ayyanar in South, revered patrol God. Ellaisamy. I read one PHD article, research done long ago. Not sure whether it is online. I was also told that madurai Veeran prayer has some words like these "Vedam odura Hindu Saathankalai, thoora virattu".

Heard from a Tamil forward caste person (their ancestors were really religious under Mysore Wodayars) and says that, probably, those guys who did not accept vedas were called low castes, but tagged as Hindus. I want to see the caste system removed in India.

Some despise Satans as anti-God, while in Kerala Satan's are revered for tantricism. All in Hinduism.

I have met tribes in Yelagiri, who never knew what Hinduism was, but their kids get caste certificate as Hindu Kuruba/Irula. (?)

I would like see one article published of knowingly being Hindu and unknowns. I can write one.

You can read this http://www.robhand.com/histintr.htm article to understand the evolution on Astrology.

A good Hindu site in Tamil

http://www.tamilhindu.com/

The site is good. Understandable even for a non Tamilian like me, and introduced to Tamil by my wife.

Let us not introduce fanaticism.

Hinduism is a way of life, and following certain veda agama principles are core to our religion. Each religion connects us to God. There could have been one religion before, we became Hindu's. Caste system is to be thrown out of our day to day living. All are equal in front of God, divided only by borders and blood group.

I am from a traditional vedic scholar family of Maharastra, who grew up in Calcutta, knows the value of give and take, even withstanding issues of hardcore elements.

Women & Temple and Astrology

Astrologically they say Mars is in transit, while the transit into Saturn gives life/pregnancy or loss of blood in a Women's horoscope. That is why you might see varied periods, in women.

Since some power is controlling us, I am not tying everything with Astrology here. This brings the question of precaution, and for believers, they can see the planetary transits and take care of their health, long distance travels etc.

Even in Panchangs you can see the onset of Mars transit happens once in 28 days, combined with Moon.

So to ensure women get rest and devoid of themselves from doing grueling Puja's those days, tradtion was brought in to ensure they are taken care. I have seen a friends wife, staying away at home on a menstrual day, instead of going to the compuslory Church visit on a Sunday.

As a benefited member of getting Dheeksha from Amma herself directly/personally, I have heard from many folks connected to her, that from young age, she did not take rest for any days at all. She stay away from hugging, only when she is sick in the human body.

I have asked Amma why women are kept away during mensus time and her answer was, very logical. Penance make women weak and while during mensus the body is actually cleansing the uterus, so needs more oxygen, which will not be available is the crowded closed temples. Also those days, the tradition was not to have toilets inside temple, in case of mishaps to cleanup, since there were no sanitary pad items.

There is one village closer to Yelagiri hills near Salem, where I have seen tribes having a "Muttu" room, where women are left alone during their periods.

While Banguru Swamy Adigalar at Mel Maruvathur, who has been blessed by Ambal, allows anybody to do Puja etc. Thats why RED is so spread there. Well you are expected to take bath atleast before you go to Moola Sthan.

I have visited Guruvayoor, Udupi and Trichendur and found that men as expected to remove shirt to enter temple. Out of curiosity, I have asked many elders on this tradition. (1) to see the sacred thread, that allows priority seva and need be they can be of some help in Puja (2) any visible skin disease that might be spread, which would make people stay away from crowd.

Even my mother at Calcutta, did not go near Puja area but cooked for me and elder sister, till sister was capable of handling things at kitchen. She used to eat well and sleep. Once my sister entered medical college, I could see the traditions vanish a bit.

Whenever I left home for college/work, the whole family used to see me off at Railway station. At times, I used to see my mother or sister missing, and I understood that they are avoiding public space and crowd for obvious reasons. (exclusion, I think, when I first went abroad for work, they came to Airport).

Ayurveda advices lots of Coconut water, if you can afford or lime juice with sugar and salt.

Methi leaves and seed soaked water gives relief to the uterus. Plenty of rest is advised.

Kriya Yoga Information

Vedathri Mahirishi, Sri Sri Ravishankar & Jaggi Vasudev are proponents of Kriya Yoga in various forms.

Marketing is the key to spread awareness.

Are you lazy, lethargic and bored in life, and also have lots of health problems with bad habits and attitude, you should do Kriya.

Vivekananda: An incident to remember

Location: Kumbakonam ( Feb 1893)

In the said village lives a man of the particular caste, generally passing for an astrologer. I, with two other young men, went to see him. He was said to tell about anything a man thinks of. So, I wanted to put him to the test. Two months ago, I dream't that my mother was dead and I was very anxious to know about her. My second was whether what my Guru had told me was right. The third was a test-question— a part of the Buddhistic mantra, in Tibetan tongue. These questions I determined upon, two days before going to this Govinda. Another young man had one of his sisters-in-law given poison to, by some unknown hand, from which she recovered. But he wanted to know the author of that delivery.

When we first saw him, the fellow was almost ferocious. He said that some Europeans came to see [him] with the Dewan of Mysore and that since then through their `Dristee Dosham' he had got fever and that he could not give us a seance then and only if we paid him 10 Rs., he would consent to tell us our `prasnas'. The young men with me of course were ready to pay down his fees. But he goes to his private room and immediately comes back and says to me that if I gave him some ashes to cure him of his fever he would consent to give us a seance. Of course I told him that I do not boast of any power of curing diseases but he said, `That does not matter, only I want [the ash]'. So, I consented and he took us to the private room and, taking a sheet of paper, wrote something upon it and gave it over to one of us and made me sign it and keep it into the pocket of one of my companions. Then he told me point blank, `Why you, a Sannyasi, are thinking upon your mother?' I answered that even the great Shankaracharya would take care of his mother; and he said `She is all right and I have written her name in that paper in the possession of your friend' and then went on saying, `Your Guru is dead. Whatever he has told you, you must believe, for he was a very very great man,' and went on giving me a description of my Guru which was most wonderful and then he said `What more you want to know about your Guru?' I told him `If you can give me his name I would be satisfied', and he said, `Which name? A Sannyasi gets different sorts of names'. I answered, `The name by which he was known to the public', and says, `The wonderful name, I have already written that. And you wanted to know about a mantra in Tibetan, that is also written in that paper.' And, he then told me to think of anything in any language and tell him, I told him `Om Namo BhagavateVasudevaya ', and he said, `That is also written in the paper in possession of your friend. Now take it out and see'. And Lo! Wonder! They were all there as he said and even my mother's name was there!! It began thus—your mother of such and such name is all right. She is very holy and good, but she is feeling your separation like death and within two years she shall die; so if you want to see her, it must be within two years.

Next it was written—your Guru Ramakrishna Paramahamsa is dead but he lives in Sukshma, i.e., ethereal body, and is watching over you, etc. and then it was written `Lamala capsechua', in Tibetan, and then at last was written `In conformation to what I have written, I give you also this mantra which you would give me after one hour after my writing; `Om Namo Bhagavate etc.'; and so he was equally successful with my friends. Then I saw people coming from distant villages and as soon as he sees them he says—`Your name is such and such and you come from such and such village for this purpose'. By the time he was reading me, he toned down very much and said—`I won't take money from you. On the other hand, you must take some "seva" from me'. And I took some milk at his house and he brought over his whole family to bow down to me and I touched some `vibhutee' brought by him and then I asked him the source of his wonderful powers. First he would not say, but after a while he came to me [and] said—`Maharaj, it is "siddhi of mantras" through the "sahaya" of "Devi".' Verily, there are more things on heaven and earth Horatio than your philosophy ever dreamt of—Shakespeare.

OSHO and Consciousness

Beloved Master,
Quantum physicists are using the term 'consciousness. ' Are they using this word in the same sense as you do? If not, what is the difference between the consciousness they are talking about, and the consciousness you are talking about?

There is a great difference. The physicists are talking about a consciousness which they have not experienced within themselves; it is only a hypothesis. It is their objective observation that consciousness exists: people are conscious - you cannot deny it. Because it is an objective observation, they are bound to be defining it in a wrong way, because basically consciousness is your subjectivity. It is irreducible into an object. You cannot study it from outside.
From outside you can study only behavior, you cannot study consciousness; hence, there is a school of psychology called behaviorism. People are behaving as if they are conscious. The physicist's consciousness is "as if" - a hypothesis, because people are not behaving consciously.
So the first, basic mistake is, they are simply taking an objective view of something which can never become an object, which is always the subject. There is no way to make it an object. And because they are studying it as an object, they are falling into many pitfalls. One is that consciousness is a by-product of biology, physiology, chemistry - of all that man is made of. It is simply a by-product, it is not an independent entity in itself.
It is just like a clock: the hands move, but that movement does not show that inside there is life that is moving them. It is mechanical; you can separate the parts and the movement will stop. You can put them back together again and the movement will start. You cannot do that to man. Take his physiology, chemistry, biology apart, and then try to put them together again - you will have just a corpse, no consciousness. Consciousness is not a by-product.
Consciousness experienced subjectively needs some inward journey. No scientist is doing that. He wants to study consciousness in white mice, in guinea pigs. This is very strange. The scientist has the consciousness in himself, what is the need to go to a white mouse? Go inwards!
And that's what I call the science of interiority, religion, meditation. You move deeper, leaving your body, your mind, your heartbeat far behind - and still you are. And you are more than you have ever been, because you had known yourself filtered through the heart, through the mind, through the body - thick layers. So you had felt your consciousness in a very slight way.
But when you have reached to your own center - which is neither chemical nor physical nor biological - you experience a totally new reality. Immediately you become aware that it is not a by-product, that it has its own existence. The body may die, but this consciousness is so separate from the body that there is no possibility of it dying with the body. The heart may stop, but you are so far away from the heart, you are no longer identified with the heart. You are part of an eternal life.
So when I talk about consciousness, I am talking about my own experience of diving deep into my being. And when the physicists talk about consciousness, they are talking not about experience but about experiments that they are doing with white mice, guinea pigs. Strange people! You have consciousness, the white mouse is in a very backward state of life; why not find it within yourself? Man is the highest expression of consciousness.
Science can never know the real being, the real soul, the real consciousness, for the simple reason that it is object-oriented. Hence, a totally different approach is needed, a science which is subject-oriented.
You cannot put consciousness in a test-tube. Consciousness is not something material; it is not something like a commodity. It is not something that you can dissect and find out what elements it is made of. It is a single, indivisible life. And the only way to know it is to go within yourself. That is the purpose of the commune. It is not a religion; it is the science of subjectivity.
So there is a total difference. What they are talking about is absolutely irrelevant. What I am talking about is the real thing. And you need not go anywhere, because it is within you. No lab is needed, no instruments are needed. All that is needed is that you learn how to relax, how to be silent, how to be just a witness. And slowly slowly your mind stops its unnecessary chattering, your heart stops its moods, feelings.
And suddenly you are your reality, your consciousness.
And it reveals all the mysteries. It is the golden key, the master key, because it makes you aware not only of your consciousness, it makes you aware that your consciousness is not separate from other consciousnesses.
Consciousness is almost like an ocean. We are all in it, we are all sharing the same consciousness. The trees, the animals, the birds - they are all sharing the same consciousness in different stages of growth.
You are fortunate to be a human being, because this gives you an opportunity to turn in.

Hypertension and Astrology

Hypertension is the cause of stress and is due to the social factors.

So for business of work related people, you have to analyze the 6th house along with the house for statuses 4 and 8 and 11 for fulfillment.

Astakavarga is one system that can give the accuracy of the 'bindu points' on such houses.

I am indebted to Sri Sundaram for his rules and research. He agrees that along with the 8,1 rule, you can check Health and job related satisfaction with 6, 4, 8 & 11. (note 6 in front).

http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/KAstakavargaResearch

The houses he mentions are 4, 6, 8, & 11 to see the health status along with the social status - which is the root cause of stress. If the 'bindu' points in Astakavarga for the four combined houses are greater than 32, he/she would survive the onslaught of job/business related stress (invariably there would be ups and downs). If less than 32 and more than 24, the stress caused illness' like Hypertension, Psoriasis - skin problem etc. will have a cure, after long treatment.

If you take the Indian climate, these issues are there for everyone, almost.

Also, if you have any kind of Diabetes, it would aggravate as well.

Personally for me I have suffered from BP as well as Ulcers, which have their own onslaughts and I look at the chart and time it in a way to avoid oil and gaseous substances.

Sex & Ayurveda & Astrology

Sex has always been an issue of dichotomy. An integral part of our lives and essential for the continuation of the species, it is far more than just a technical necessity. While social structures in India are quite strict on this, the study of
sex - from both its physical and psychological perspectives - has been practiced here from ancient times. Unlike in the west, where this is a fairly recent phenomenon and they are yet to find the proper line of distinction between sex
in general and pornography in particular.

On the other hand Maharishi Vatsayan's Kamasutra is yet unparalleled as the most comprehensive documentation ever on the practice of sex. Unfortunately, its classic treatment of the act and the art has often been misrepresented. The ancient Ayurvedic text of Charaka Samhita provided complete sexual solutions over 3000 years ago And the time-frozen, stone-carved, erotic sculptures in the temples at Khajuraho and Konarak leave millions of visitors utterly awe-struck by their sheer beauty, elegance and variety. An undying testimony to how intrinsic sex was to the daily lives of people in ancient India.

The importance of sex in our lives has remained quite unchanged. The crucial points to be kept in mind in relation to the same being :

* Sex is an integral part of our daily habits (Dinacharya).
* Night and after two hours of dinner is the ideal time for intimacy, as it is kapha time.
* An absolutely satisfying sexual union, when developed over time, bestows you and your partner with health and vitality.
* For best results, each of the partners should be physically, emotionally and spiritually involved with the other.
* Touch, smell, food, music and ambience play a vital role in developing, increasing and prolonging intimacy.
* Perverted or unsatisfying sex has adverse effects on your mental and physical health, as it aggravates your vital energies (doshas) and reduces immunity. An aggravated vata will make you more emotionally vulnerable and fear-prone, increased pitta will move you to anger and even frustration and enhanced kapha will make you more possessive.
* The frequency of sex depends on your constitution and seasons - kapha types indulge in sex more frequently than your vata & pitta types thanks to the extra stamina they possess.
* Vata types might find satisfaction in changing partners. While the difficult-to-quench-their-desires pitta types are usually in quest for more intensity.

For more and better sex therefore, one can practice Vajikaran therapy (virlification) - that part of Ayurveda which enhances male fertility and potency. However, any misuse of the same may open up a deluge of emotional and psychological complications. Use of similar medication (aphrodisiac supplements) instantly induces sexual pleasure and excitement, increases sexual stamina and promotes fertile seminal secretions.

For each of the most common types of problems that can occur the remedies have been listed below:

1. PREMATURE EJACULATION:

The most common problem of sexual dissatisfaction is premature ejaculation in males. Because it cut shorts the duration of intimacy and the couple cannot achieve full orgasm.

Herbal Remedy :
a) Shilajit - one tablet, twice daily, with milk / fruit juice or water for 3 to 4 months.
b) Stress Guard - one capsule, twice daily, with milk or fruits juice.
c) Sri Gopal Taila - for gentle massage on male organ except glans penis, before half an hour of intimacy.

2. UNSATISFACTORY ERECTION OR SEXUAL DEFICIENCY:

In most cases the root cause for this is very psychological. However, it is imperative to first check on all the pathological / physical causes. After treating them, the patients' self-confidence needs to be restored too.

Herbal Remedy :
a) Shilajit - one tablet, twice daily, with honey.
b) Stress Guard - one cap, twice daily, with milk or fruit juice.
c) Sri Gopal Taila - for gentle massage on genital organ.

3. LACK OF LIBIDO :

The hectic pace of ultra modern lifestyle causes severe tension and excessive fatigue within individuals. This is usually the prime cause for lack of libido and unsatisfactory sexual performance.

Herbal Remedy :
a) Vita Ex Gold - one capsule, twice daily, with milk or fruit juice.
b) Ashwagandharishta - four t.s.f, twice daily, with water after meal.
c) Sri Gopal Taila - for massaging gently on male genital organ

4. OLIGOSPERMIA :

Male infertility is often due to the sperm count falling below the fertility level. A large number of sperms are not motile, viable or exhibit morphological abnormalities.

Herbal Remedy :

In the west there was some initial therapeutic enthusiasm over use of testosterone in impotence. But it did not stand the test of time. According to an article in The British Medical Journal testosterone is quite ineffective when impotence is the sole symptom and testosterone levels per se are largely irrelevant. Its rise in blood level is secondary to sexual arousal. The reduction
in the plasma testosterone level, which may be found in chronically impotent men, probably reflects sexual apathy rather than causes it. This is in accord with the generally disappointing results using androgen replacement. And the high incidence of impotence in old age is not hormonal in origin.
